Foreign Investment Cooperation Business Profiles of Shaanxi Province (August 2017)

1. Direct foreign investment
From January to August 2017, we had 18 newly established overseas investment enterprises and 25 alternated in Shaanxi Province, actual investment of China is 454 million dollars, with year-on-year growth of 10.4%, mainly distributed in Hong Kong, Malaysia and Ghana, involving fields of energy and resource development, commerce and trade service and construction etc.
From January to August, we have invested 52 million dollars overseas along The Belt and Road Initiative, mainly involving industries of energy and chemical industry, mineral resource development and construction materials etc.
Up to the end of August, we have made consultative investment of 1.33 billion dollars with countries along The Belt and Road Initiative, with accumulated actual investment of 930 million dollars.
2. Contract foreign projects
From January to August 2017, contract foreign projects of this province have completed business volume of 2.194 billion dollars, with year-to-year growth of 71.27%; newly signed contract amount of 2.397 billion dollars, with year-to-year growth of 35.12 %.
The project “Karachi to Lahore Expressway Third Section Project” of The Twenty Bureau of China Railway Group commenced smoothly, the project was implemented according to the plan and driven sharp increase in business volume of this province.
3. Foreign labor cooperation
From January to August 2017, we have sent 4,234 various contract workers abroad, 112 increased comparing with the same period last year; 12,321 labors were working overseas in the end of the period, 343 decreased comparing with the same period last year; population of where the employed project located is 27,565, 2283 decreased comparing with the same period last year.
3,490 workers were sent out under term of contract foreign projects, 7,578 workers were working overseas in the end of the period, mainly distributed in Algeria, Laos, Pakistan and Angola. 744 workers were sent out under term of foreign labor cooperation, 4,743 workers were overseas in the end of the period, mainly distributed in Singapore and Japan.
